As a college student I loved going to the gym, running, playing sports; really anything that would get my heart racing and that I could watch myself grow through doing it.
Coming towards graduation at ASU I began to focus more on my studies and less about physical fitness. Unable to convince myself to workout because I had so much homework to do, I found it hard to find balance between school and working out.
I began attending hot yoga classes to challenge my body. I found this practice so incredible to me because I could get so much out of it, and could tell everyone else was too; even though all of our practices looked different.
Learning to work my mind, emotions, and breath on top of just working the body was a completely new thing for me and I fell in love with yoga immediately.
After practicing for two years at different studios in Tempe and around campus; I moved to Scottsdale and began practicing at HYU, it was close to home and offers a great selection of classes.
A desk position opened up after only after my first class, the opportunity to work so closely with so many of the teachers and staff members made it easy to fall in love with the studio!
In June 2019 I hopped on a plane and landed in Bali for my RYT 200 Hatha and Vinyasa training. Excited to learn to teach but driven to learn from a long lived original source, I decided to make the trip and do a 27 day full immersion intensive to absorb as much knowledge as I could. To say in a few short words, it was the experience of a lifetime, and I learned so much more than I could have even asked for.
With the goal to come back and begin a teaching career I knew HYU would be an amazing place to start out strong. Excited to be apart of the unique and wonderful team here I want to bring to my students what I first received from yoga that drew me in; an open space to receive out of their practice what they came for.
