Nicki’s yoga journey began when she was 18 and took her first yoga class at the YMCA where she worked. After focusing on other types of fitness training and teaching body works and cycling classes at LA Fitness, she drove past Hot Yoga University and was intrigued. She was amazed to discover it was owned by Karin Fellman, her grade school basketball coach and art teacher.
She started taking classes at Hot Yoga University in 2015, then brought her practice to a hot studio in Sydney, Australia, where she livedfor two years and dived deeper into styles like Yin.
Nicki was always interested in becoming a yoga instructor but didn’t want to complete her RYT 200 yoga teacher training anywhere else besides HYU. She is absolutely thrilled to join the HYU team.
Nicki hopes students leave her classes happier, lighter, more confident and more radiant than before. She strives to put together challenging sequences for all yoga levels.
“Yoga is meaningful to me because of so much more than the physical aspect,” says Nicki. “The mental and spiritual benefits are what have made me a yogi for life. I hope to help others feel a sense of peace with every class.”
