Meditate right now
My favorite part of my yoga practice is when class is over and the teacher offers ten minutes of silent meditation. The more I practice stillness, the more my body, mind and spirit crave it. I love it for so many reasons, clearing out the clutter of my mind, letting go of everything… It is the peace that passes all understanding. Prayer is talking to God and meditation is listening for God. Many times in meditation I receive answers to my questions. First I pray.. then I meditate, then more prayers of gratitude… “Am I on the right path Lord, should I change anything… guide me to where I’m needed… thank you…”
Yesterday’s meditation was especially powerful. So much came up with my path in life and my family. The last message I received blew me away.
“Karin, when your time is done here on earth and you look down on your experience, you will then realize what an absolute privilege it was to have walked on the earth.”
Wow…. Most days I am pretty mindful for this gift of life. To receive such a powerful insight of how just how awesome it is to be human and to walk on the earth made me break down right there on my mat. I will not wait until it is over to recognize this gift right front of me. I’m going to Be this experience every day.
I went on to feel there were so many souls who would love to have the chance once again to feel love and even sadness, to feel pain, joy and gratitude, to be able to hold someone they love just one more time. This is the gift of the human form; to feel, to see, to hear and to touch. This is what we came here to do. We are spiritual beings having an amazing human experience.
So let’s love and hold and even get angry when life calls for it. Most of all know, it’s vital that we go within each day and meditate. Experience the real benefits for yourself… it is a gift to be here right now, right now….

“Prayer is a consequence of real meditation. Only a meditator can pray because she knows, because she feels; because now God’s presence is not just an argument, not a logical thing, but something experienced, something lived. And then prayer is no longer a complaint. Then prayer is a surrender, then prayer is pure love – no desire attached to it, no conditions. It is sheer gratefulness.” ~Osho
