| HYU Family, What a mind-blowing summer it this been! As I am sure you have already heard, Karin announced on July 4th that she was permanently closing the Hot Yoga University studio doors. The news was shocking to many of us, leaving us confused and disappointed. The outpouring of love and gratitude that came after was overwhelming as so many of us consider HYU our second home, a safe place. A place for mental clarity, body appreciation and a motivational strength, the idea that our beloved studio may no longer exist was more than most of us could bear. Almost immediately, a long-time student reached out to some HYU teachers with an idea that caught fire! Upon approach, Karin recognized the community needed a place like HYU. She agreed to sell the studio to us so we can continue to bring the vision of HYU and our love of yoga to our amazing TRIBE! While Karin and her family’s absence will be missed at the studio, HYU has turned into something much larger than any of us alone. It is the community that makes HYU the hub of wellness that we have grown accustomed to. We are happy to announce that your favorite teachers are coming back and the doors to HYU will reopen once again! We are also thrilled to announce Effie Densberger as the new HYU Studio Manger! We all know her as the heart and soul of HYU and we are ecstatic to have her in this role. Effie began her Yogi career at HYU more than 7 years ago. She completed her YTT in 2014 and has been teaching ever since. Let us all congratulate and thank Effie as she assumes the helm! HYU cannot exist without each and every one of you and we can’t wait to see you back on your mat. We are planning to reopen in September and will be following ALL mandatory CDC rules and guidelines. We know how important it is for students, staff, and teachers to feel safe in their yoga home. We ask that you work with us through this trying time as we develop the new normal that will allow us to build our practice to greater heights with clearer minds. More information regarding our new COVID operations will soon be available on our website and social media. Things may look a little different but please know we will be doing everything we can to keep you safe and practicing.
