We Are Four!
This week marks our 4th Anniversary!
It’s hard to believe that it’s already our Four Year Anniversary! It seems like it was just yesterday Roy and I were both at a crossroads in our careers; Roy just getting laid off from his corporate job of over thirty years and I was waiting very patiently for some Divine guidance on my own life path. As usual, and without fail, God was at work behind the scenes, orchestrating his Divine plan for our highest good. Some would think losing your job as a bad thing, but I knew it was because something even better was coming and we were destined to create a wonderful partnership.
Roy, an Arizona State University alumni with a degree in criminal justice, has always had an attention to detail.His work career has been one of numbers and finance.
I have always worked in an environment which has allowed me to help others realize their full potential. Our two strengths effortlessly blend together to make the perfect partnership.
In the eight years leading up to that amazing moment in time that we were both “free” of our work, I had been teaching yoga and managing the small studio I taught at. Looking back it’s so clear that the time invested in our previous jobs was in preparation for our greatest adventure so far! We joined forces to create HYU….(heck, we’re already enjoying the most sacred partnership there is, with 34 years of marriage!)
My vision for Hot YOGA UNIVERSITY was to change the way Arizona practiced hot Yoga, by offering affordable pricing- $10 drop-ins, to offer a variety of classes, to open our doors to everyone and to be considerate of our yogis precious free time, by offering 60 minute classes. I also wanted to give back to the neighborhood I grew up in by opening up a studio in South Scottsdale.
In just these short four years we have done all that and more! And now many studios have seen the light and are jumping on the Hot YOGA UNIVERSITY train to follow our model. ????
I am extremely humbled and grateful to walk in each day and see all your smiling faces, to see you getting healthy, releasing stress and creating new friendships. I always said you’ll feel like you belong at HYU, because you do… Our promise is that we will always continue to give you our best! I’ve been in the yoga industry for sixteen years, and I can honestly say we have the most fabulous staff around. I have never met a group of more caring, heart centered, compassionate teachers than the ones that grace our yoga room.
And you guys…well this community of yogis is unlike any other! Your love and support inspire us to rise even higher, to continue our education, to learn more, to push ourselves creatively with new class ideas and to stay on the pulse of what’s next! We are blessed by you!
